Umi,has been selected to be the sole representative of the hospitality sector this week, at a national event to raise awareness of vocational training and qualifications: VQ Day.
VQ Day takes place on Wednesday 23 July and is the first national celebration of vocational success - a celebration of the people who gain vocational qualifications every year and those who help them achieve this success.
VQ Day aims to raise the profile, and communicate the value, of vocational qualifications to future students, potential employers and the wider public.
The largest of all the events to take place that day will be at London’s Royal Opera House, where a range of demonstrations from colleges, learning providers and employers will make up seven ‘zones’ and demonstrate vocational excellence.
What’s more, two of those who will be preparing a number of dishes and involving visitors in complimentary wine-tasting are interns and trainees, based at Umi Hotels
