The Red Bull Flugtag is one of Londons maddest quirkiest sporting events this Summer. Come to London for the weekend of the 7th June and join in with 40 teams of mad inventors trying to launch their own home made contraptions in to the air above Hyde Park’s Serpentine Lake. Yes, it does sound completly looney but this is the 2nd year for this to happen in London. People get their creative juices flowing but designing, constructing and ‘flying’ their very own man powered machines - all fighting for the grand title of ‘Red Bull Flugtag Champion’. Vanity Fair Portraits: Photographs 1913-2008 09/05/08
The National Portrait Gallery curators have been given access to the Vanity Fair archives and pulled together a selection of 150 classic images. The exhibition features vintage prints from the magazine’s first period (1913-1936) – on display for the first time. These are combined with more popular and contemporary images from its second period (1983-present). The exhibit will be on display until 26 May so don’t miss out! Click here for more information.

Some of the best comedians around are coming together for one night only in a fundraising stand-up comedy night to support the Sumatran Orangutan Society. Heading the night will be the wonderful Bill Bailey who will be supported by the likes of Kevin Eldon from ‘Hot Fuzz’, Marcus Brigstocke from ‘The Late Edition’, the sublime and lovely Shappi Khorsandi, and hosted by Dave Johns. Sure fire winner.
This event will be held at the Lyceum Theatre on Monday the 12th of May at 7:30pm.
London 10k Run for NDCS 09/05/08
Take on the challenge of the brand new London 10K run surrounded by the fascinating landmarks of the capital and support the work of the National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS), a charity dedicated to supporting deaf children and their families throughout Britain.
